NYCC's New York Super Week To Hold Classic Nickelodeon Event

New York Comic Con's New York Super Week has announced the very exciting Classic Nickelodeon news in a Facebook event that they have teamed up Mathew Klickstein, the author of "SLIMED! An Oral History of Nickelodeon's Golden Age", to present a very special retro-Nickelodeon themed event called "A Nite of Nickelodeon Nostalgic Nonsense!"!

"SLIMED! Presents A Nite of Nickelodeon Nostalgic Nonsense!" will feature a night packed full of Nickelodeon nostalgia, including:

* A live performance by Polaris, the house band of "The Adventures of Pete & Pete", fronted by Mark Mulcahy ("The greatest voice I've ever heard," says Radiohead's Thom Yorke). Not only is it their first show of their first ever tour, it'll be Polaris' first-ever live show in New York City!;

* In their second-ever ever appearance, a live performance by Fred Newman and Dan Sawyer, the masterminds behind the music of the classic Nicktoon "Doug" (The Beets' "Killer Tofu", anyone...?), who will be performing music from the show!;

* A guest appearance by Jason Zimbler, who played Ferguson W. Darling on "Clarissa Explains It All"!;

* A surprise celebrity guest panel with stars from some of your favorite Classic Nick shows, moderated by "SLIMED!" author Mathew Klickstein;

* A live podcast recording of "The Adventures of Danny & Mike" by "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" stars Michael Maronna and Danny Tamberelli (Big Pete/Little Pete, respectively, though Little Pete has little to no respect for anyone except for Artie... and MAYBE Big Pete). The Pete's are bringing along a few special guests of their own, as well, from both the world of "Pete & Pete" AND Classic Nickelodeon in general, including a throwback to a 1990's Nickelodeon game show!

"A Nite of Nickelodeon Nostalgic Nonsense!" will be held on Thursday 9th October 2014 between 8:00pm and 11:00pm (EDT) at the Hammerstein Ballroom at Manhattan Center, 311 W 34th St, New York, New York 10001. Tickets to attend "SLIMED! Presents A Nite of Nickelodeon Nostalgic Nonsense!" are available to be purchased through Ticketmaster.

SLIMED! Presents a Nite of Nickelodeon Nostalgic Nonsense!
Thu. October 9| 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM | Hammerstein Ballroom

What the hell was he singing about in that incredible opening song to The Adventures of Pete & Pete? Maybe you'll find out at SLIMED! presents a Nite of Nickelodeon Nostalgic Nonsense! For the first time in New York and one of the first few times live, POLARIS -- the band that played all your favorite music on Pete & Pete -- will be playing LIVE, fronted by Mark Mulcahy, who Thom Yorke called "the greatest voice I've ever heard." We're also tossing in a little "Killer Tofu," with a live performance by Fred Newman and Dan Sawyer, creators of the inimitably outrageous music for Nicktoons' Doug. And just to keep things thematically sensible, we're serving up a guest panel with some of the stars of your favorite Golden Age Nick shows, all topped off by Pete & Pete's own Michael Maronna (Big) and Danny Tamberelli (Little), who will be joined by god-knows-who for a live presentation of their The Adventures of Danny & Mike podcast. Pipe! Why only remember your childhood memories ... when you can re-live them?
